Accurate measurement of the orbits of small planetoids is often not available in star catalogs. Such an object is (85) Io, which has an average brightness at opposition of 12m.l. Inaccuracies in the measurement of the planetoid's orbit were estimated (before the study presented here) at greater than 10 min. New measurements were made at an amateur observatory in East Germany on 32 nights (97 individual observations) over a period of 118 days. Results are presented in a table, and yielded an average accuracy of slightly less than one second from what is now considered the true orbital path of (85) Io.
