The discovery of relic radiation of a temperature of 2.7 K provides significant arguments in favor of the big-bang universe. In the present paper, the meaning of the postulated cosmic background neutrinos for the evolution of the Friedmann cosmological model over the present and past epochs is discussed. The topics examined include the neutrinos of the symmetrical big-bang theory; neutrino superstars; asymmetry as a degenerate neutrino gas; and methods by which degenerate neutrino gas might be detected.
