Supernovae: Collapse, Supernovae: Quark Matter

Scientific paper

The authors assume that in a supernova collapse, when matter reaches the state of super nuclear density, quark phase transition occurs under the critical density. They calculate the collapse, bounce and shock propagation using the WW(88) initial model. They discuss the influence of phase transitions on the transferred energy, leading to stronger shocks.
