A survey of laboratory measurements of several binary and
collision-stabilized association reactions of CH3+ ions is presented. It
is shown that the association reactions can proceed via radiative
stabilization at gas kinetic rates in interstellar clouds and that the
products of the reactions can result in observed interstellar molecules
