Recent observations have unveiled high abundances of complex molecules in the Galactic Center (e.g. Requena-Torres et al. 2006). The presence of these molecules, which are believed to be formed on dust grain surfaces, is quite puzzling, because it seems to require cycles of depletion-evaporation from the grains in order to keep their abundance high. This may be achieved through shocks, but it is unclear if grain chemistry can be efficient in such environment. The present proposal is aimed at understanding the chemical processes leading to the formation of these complex molecules, and in particular at pinpointing the role of grain chemistry in this environment, by studying the deuterium fractionation ratio of some of the detected complex molecules.
