We propose to make Faraday rotation measurements towards two relatively nearby pulsars, viz. PSRs J1210-6550 and J1435-5954, aimed at testing and extending magnetic field measurements in the Southern Coalsack cloud. The pulsar PSR J1210-6550 is located behind the Coalsack, while PSR J1435-5954 is located at a similar distance and has a comparable dispersion measure, but off of the Coalsack extended envelope, about 16 degree from PSR J1210-6550. These measurements will allow us to test the validity of the high magnetic field strength derived from optical polarimetry, and if confirmed, provide the third -- line of sight -- component of the field, not measured by the optical measurements.
