Scientific paper

The abundance ratios of the CNO isotopes observed in red giant stars are
compared with predictions based on standard descriptions of stellar
evolution. The present computations deal with stars in the mass range
1.7 to 15 Msun which are evolved beyond the "first dredge-up"
phase. Some results of these comparisons are summarized here.
