Lunar Topography

Scientific paper

The Orbiter photography is still of great value today, nearly 30 years later, in analysing lunar topography. This paper is a report of an investigation the writer has made, using Orbiter data, to determine the nature of a feature observed in the western libration area near Schickard. This feature does not so far appear to be separately identified, yet it covers a large area and is a distinctive object at lunar sunrise, when it may easily be seen through a small telescope.
