The new statistical effects in the distribution of the orbital elements of short-period comets are ascertained. It is shown that the whole complex of similar effects for short-period comets indicates their gravitational ejection from the Jovian sphere of action. The total analogy is detected between the statistical effects for short-periodic comets in elliptical coordinates and the same effects for long-period comets in galactic coordinates. It follows that the long-period comets have been ejected from the sphere of action of a hypothetical trans-plutonian planet moving nearly in the galactic plane.
