A method by which a sundial can be used as a moondial has been known for over four centuries. However, since this involved estimating the lunar phase, an error of approximately one hour in time invariably resulted. A proper and accurate lunar equation of time is presented in which no knowledge of the lunar phase is necessary. A two-step "predictor-corrector" method enables the time to be determined by simply providing an initial guess.
