By analyzing the polarization (Stokes) spectra of the neutral iron line 630.25 nm acquired from the sunspot by S^3T, we show that the occupation number increases exponentially with the magnetic field strength. This newly found effect is operative only on the level which has non-zero Landé factor. Such effect is directly identified by observing the variations in line intensities of the neutral mercury line 546.1 nm as well as the pair of neutral sodium D-lines 589.0 nm and 589.6 nm by tuning the induction of magnetic fields in the laboratory.
