The nucleus of the Seyfert 2 galaxy Markarian 348 is studied spectrophotometrically on the basis of 24 image-converter spectra. Several relative line-intensity ratios are determined, and physical properties of the radiating gas are computed. H-beta and forbidden O III 4959-A and 5007-A line profiles are constructed; components are found which are situated nearly symmetrical with respect to the line centers at distances corresponding to Doppler velocities of up to + or - 2000 km/s. It is suggested that the nuclear activity of Markarian 348 is similar to that observed in the nucleus of Markarian 6.
