The wavelengths of forbidden lines from [Mg VIII], [Si VI], [Si VII], [S VIII] and [Ca VIII] have been determined to an accuracy of 15 km/s on the basis of optical and near infrared spectra of the high excitation planetary nebula NGC 6302 where these lines are prominent and free from blending. The new wavelengths are much more accurate than those so far available and could be useful for the study of the coronal line region in Seyfert galaxies.
