Optical identification of the ROSAT selected WTTS, on the basis of the ROSAT All-Sky Survey Bright Source Catalogue and follow-up intermediate-resolution spectroscopic observations, has led to the discovery of { }60 WTTS and 1 CTTS in the outskirts of the Taurus-Auriga region. Accurate parallaxes and proper motions provided by the Hipparcos Catalogue permit further study on the nature of the widely distributed WTTS candidates discovered so far in and around Taurus-Auriga. Under the Hypothesis the TTS studied are representative of the TTS candidates discovered around Taurus-Auriga, we would conclude that about one thirds of the TTS could be associated with the Taurus-Auriga SFR and they might have originated differently from TTS identified in the inner part of Taurus-Auriga. Along with parallax and proper motion analysis of the non-TTS X-ray sources around Taurus-Auriga, our study suggests that the majority of the young active X-ray sources, within an angular diameter of about 30 degree toward the Taurus-Auriga SFR, are spatially belonging to several different major subgroups according to the apparent discordance of their distances and/or proper motions, i.e. probable minor astrometric groups and the Hyades cluster members in the foreground, Pleiades cluster members and Taurus-Auriga association members in the middle and possible Orion T-association or Gould Belt members at the back.
