We have obtained near-infrared spectra of 61 background stars toward Heiles Cloud 2 in the Taurus molecular cloud complex. We have employed WIRO 2.3m telescope and MLOF 1.5m telescope with a low dispersion spectrometer, PASP2, which can simultaneously obtain the spectrum with wavelength range between 1.3 and 4.2 μm. For 56 out of 61 objects, visual extinction AV and absorption depth of water ice τICE have been estimated. For 50 out of 56 objects, these were systematically estimated from our data only. In order to investigate the water ice distribution in Heiles Cloud 2, we made a ``water ice map'', in which the τICE toward the C18O (J=1-0) map obtained by millimeter observation (Sunada & Kitamura 1998). Distribution of water ice is closely correlated with that of C18O. We made also an AV versus τICE diagram. The diagram shows that the slope of τICE versus AV is 0.067 and a significant scatter in AV threshold (AV0); AV0=2-5 mag while previous observations have suggested only one AV threshold. The variation in the threshold might be due to the different contribution of the inner water-containing portion of the cloud along the line of sight.
