The results of observations of the elliptical galaxy NGC 1052 with the 6-m telescope together with the Multi-Aperture Spectrophotometer are presented. Maps of the 11.5" x 14" central region of the galaxy in the green continuum, in the [O III] λ5007 emission line, and in the line-of-sight velocity of the ionized gas are obtained, as well as radial variations of the absorption lines MgI λ5175, FeI λ5270, and Hβ. The very central part of NGC 1052 within a radius of 3" - 4" is found to be distinguished by its metallicity: the metallicity jumps between the "nucleus" and the main body of the galaxy by a factor of at least 4.
