Using a nonlinear dynamo model (in a single-mode approximation), and analytical expression is derived which gives the magnitude of the mean magnetic field as a function of rotation and other parameters for a solar-type convection zone. By means of this expression we find a power-law relation between the X-ray luminosity and stellar rotation. The exponent in this relation is in agreement with observations.
