We report spectroscopic observations of the recent M31 nova candidate PNV J00421003+4105141, which was discovered by K. Nishiyama and F. Kabashima at m=17.7 (unfiltered) on 2011 Nov. 12.504 UT. At our request, a spectrum (410-950 nm) was obtained by J. Caldwell approximately 4 days post discovery on 2011 Nov. 16.26 UT with the 9.2m Hobby-Eberly Telescope (+ Marcario Low-Resolution Spectrograph).
