The BL Lac object S5 0716+714 has been one part of our optical monitoring program of blazars since 1994. A burst with a duration of 6 hours was detected on 1995 January 8 and 80 sets of measurements were obtained in V and I, by turn, for the whole burst. An upper limit of the time lag of 0.0041 days (about six minutes) between bands V and I has been determined by using the Interpolation Cross-Correlation Function (ICCF) and the Discrete Correlation Function (DCF).
