Scientific paper

A method for constructing three-dimensional models of a galactic
gravitational field is presented. The form of equipotential surfaces and
the potential law at the equatorial plane are adopted separately.
Particular attention is given to the potentials of Veltmann (1979) and
Brandt (1960), and to the asymptotic behavior of the density function.
