During February 1973 to February 1974, Prognoz-3 observed 30 recurrent increases of protons in the 1-4.5 MeV energy range and electrons in the 40-500 keV energy range. All recurrent intensity increases of protons were accompanied by intensity increases of electrons. It was found that, on the earth orbit, recurrent particle fluxes were not always observed at the same time as high-speed solar wind streams. Some of the observed properties of the recurrent increases cannot be fully explained by the acceleration of particles in interplanetary space beyond 1 AU.
