The origin of ring galaxies with off-center nuclei and without nuclei but with a satellite galaxy has been explained in terms of head-on collisions between two galaxies. This letter shows that such objects are a variant of ring galaxies with central nuclei and have forms linking them to normal S and SB galaxies. It is concluded that ring galaxies without nuclei could have been formed during catastrophic collisions but that a common noncatastrophic genesis is more probable for the other objects.
