The Advanced X-ray Astrophysics Facility is being designed for NASA at an estimated cost of $2.0 billion. It is to be one of the mainstays of the nation's space science program for the next decade. A review of the program's status is presented. The specific objectives were to assess: (1) program cost and schedule status and risk; (2) results of mirror tests to date; and (3) remaining technical challenges.
