Results of an analysis of thermal radiation from the moon's surface in infrared wavelengths of 10-12 microns for 23 phase angles are presented. The dependence of the resulting lunar surface temperatures on the angle of incidence of the solar rays, the angle of reflection of the solar rays, and the phase angle is studied. Measurements of brightness temperature made by Saari and Shorthill (1967) as a result of photoelectric scanning of the moon's illuminated disk during a lunar month were used as source material.
