A newly developped homogenous model for the calculation of the
spectrophotometric and chemical evolution of galaxies is described. This
model enables - in combination with a Friedmann-Lemaitre model for the
cosmological evolution of the universe - the prediction of
spectrophotometric and chemical properties of high-redshift galaxies.
