The mission of the satellite for X-ray astronomy is briefly described. The objectives are the measurement of position, structural features, and spectral and temporal characteristics of cosmic X-ray sources in the energy range from less than 1 keV to greater than 20 MeV. Lunar occultation will be used for determining position and diameter of the sources, but most of its lifetime the satellite will be in an arbitrary pointing mode for viewing the whole of the celestial sphere. Some details of the attitude control system are mentioned.
