The High Resolution Camera (HRC), one of four instruments selected for detailed design definition as a focal plane detector for the upcoming NASA Advanced X-ray Astrophysics Facility (AXAF) mission, is discussed. The detector is described and the readout system is discussed, including its charge division process, charge spillover problem, and multitap fine position algorithms to deal with charge spillover. Resolution measurements of the HRC are discussed which demonstrated that the design goal of FWHM = 25 microns can be achieved.
