The results of a monitoring program concerning the flux and polarization of 87 compact radio sources are discussed. The radio properties of BL Lac type objects are compared with those of other variable radio sources. Spectra and flux variations are considered along with aspects of linear polarization, the distances to the BL Lac type objects, and the general nature of the objects.
