Advancements in X-ray astronomy achieved with the Uhuru satellite are discussed. The scope of Uhuru observations is outlined, and the discovery of binary and galactic cluster X-ray sources is noted. Sources described include Cen X-3, Her X-1, Cyg X-1, and the Perseus cluster. A binary source model is illustrated, and it is noted that the X-ray flux from galactic clusters may originate in intergalactic gas.-
