Models for the dominant mode of lithospheric heat transport on Venus are
considered. The results of quantitative tests of the plate-divergence
model for Aphrodite Terra are reviewed, and problems of this model are
discussed. Other models addressed include those which emphasize the
mantle flow field, a thick crust, and 'heat pipes'.
