The authors mapped Sgr A West and its surroundings at λ1.3 mm with an 11arcsec beam and at λ350 μm with a 30arcsec beam. The following results are obtained. (1) The flux density of Sgr A* increases from ≡1 Jy at λ2 cm to ≡2.5 Jy at λ1.3 mm. Alternative interpretations are discussed. (2) The spectrum of Sgr A West in this wavelength range is that of an optically thin H II region. (3) About 20% of the λ1.3 mm and ≡60% of the λ350 μm flux density integrated in a box of ≡60arcsec×100arcsec surrounding Sgr A* is dust emission from the inner edge of the ring of neutral gas and dust surrounding Sgr A West, previously observed by its HCN emission.
