The authors report the discovery of 10 new probable Cepheid variables in the young, populous LMC cluster NGC 1866. Their mean magnitudes and colours indicate that they should be similar to the seven known 2.6 - 3.5-day Cepheids near the cluster, studied most recently by Walker (1987). The prospects of using these stars in a comparison of distances determined by main-sequence fitting, Cepheid P-L-C relation, and Baade-Wesselink analyses are briefly discussed.
