Using parallaxes and proper motions for the subsample of 23,583 stars from the Hipparcos Catalogue which have measured radial velocities (Barbier-Brossat et al 2000), we have re-determined the mean heliocentric velocity of stars in the solar neighborhood as a function of their color and their kinematical properties. We find in agreement with Dehnen and Binney (1998) that the mean velocity component in the direction of the Galactic rotation depends on the colors of stars as well as on their peculiar velocities. For the groups of stars with kinematical properties belonging to the extreme thin disk population, the mean rotational velocity does not have an essential dependence on color. To determine kinematical properties of the Galactic disk in the direction perpendicular to its plane, we use the radial velocity measurements for 98 K-dwarfs towards the South Galactic Pole ( Kuijken and Gilmore 1989) which have proper motion measurements determined by the Southern Proper Motion program.
