A recent X-ray observation of the supernova remnant G54.1+0.3 has revealed a near twin of the Crab Nebula. The basic spectral and morphological characteristics of G54.1+0.3 mimic those of the Crab Nebula in all respects. However, pulsation from the central compact source -- the putative pulsar energizing the nebula, has yet to be found. We propose to search for periodicity from the central source using the ACIS in the continuum-clocking mode. Detecting the pulsar will allow us to conduct phase-resolved X-ray spectroscopy and to put important constraints on the pulsar X-ray emission mechanism and on the interaction between the pulsar wind and the nebula.
