High dispersion spectra (12.5 Å mm-1) were taken of three blue horizontal-branch (BHB) stars with the Cassegrain ITS on the CTIO 4 m telescope, in order to obtain independent estimates of the metal abundances of the globular clusters M4 and NGC 6397. Atmospheric parameters were determined, as well as interstellar reddenings and radial velocities. The authors find [Fe/H] values of -0.4 and -1.4 for BHB stars in M4 and NGC 6397, respectively.
