Radio interferometric and near-IR observations show that the core of M8E contains at least two distinct sites of star formation. One appears as a faint H II region that is optically thin at radio wavelengths and could be powered by a B2 ZAMS star. The other, M8E IR, is similar to the Becklin-Neugebauer object. Brackett-γ line radiation from this object is 110 km s-1 wide at half-power with emission extending to a full width of ≡200 km s-1. Observations of CO at 1.3 mm reveal a supersonic large-scale (≡0.3 pc) flow of neutral gas that is centered near M8E IR. The dynamical lifetime of this flow is 2×104 years, and it contains M(H2) ≡ 10 M_sun;.
