The equilibrium among gravity, gas pressure, and the ponderomotive force of turbulent Alfven waves in curved magnetic-flux tubes in the solar chromosphere is investigated analytically, assuming that the magnetic field outside the tube is zero and employing an HSRA model of gas properties. Expressions for the one-dimensional steady flow in a force-free field, for the coupling which determines the heating process, and for the case of collisional damping are derived, and the results are discussed as they apply to the interpretation of magnetic-field structures from H-alpha observation of plages, plage bridges, and bright patches and dark filaments in quiescent regions.
