The stellar abundance of lithium is of great interest in astronomy because of the links with Big Bang nucleosyn-thesis and with processes involving cosmic ray acceleration. High quality Subaru/HDS spectra of the 6707.8 A˚ LiI absorption line were taken for a sample of six metal-poor stars. Here the spectral analysis of only two of the sample stars is presented, BD-04° 3208 ([Fe/H]~-2.21) and BD+26° 3578 ([Fe/H]~-2.25). The results, based on a chi-square analysis, suggest isotopic abundance ratios of 6Li/7Li~0.030 and 0.00. These values agree with the VLT results of [6] within the errors. The confirmation of previous results is a big step forward given the challenging nature of the observations of 6Li. The low value for BD+26° 3578 is in conflict with the reported detection based on McDonald observations. The results have implications for the possible 7Li depletion and in the formation scenarios suggested for 6Li.
