It is noted that solar corona polarization observations at IR wavelengths can not only effectively determine the size of interplanetary dust particles, or at least place significant limits on particle size, but may also be able to reveal the heliocentric distance at which dust vaporizes and disappears. The dust albedo may also be ascertained in this fashion. Intensity and polarization are measurably affected by the spatial dependence of the dust, and its scattering behavior, with changes in wavelength.
