Fourier analysis of visual light curves of AM Herculis in U, B, V, and R (which included the minimum and maximum states) made over a period of four days, indicates repetition of periods on minute time scales. A binary model is also presented which accounts for the data with blocked regions, and seeks to systematize changes from cycle to cycle as well as changes occurring over a period of seven months. Cataclysmic variables are employed to compare the two systems, and major differences are revealed.
