The Poincare small-parameter method is applied to investigate the existence of periodic solutions to the problem of the rotational motion of an axisymmetric satellite with respect to the center of mass in a circular orbit. Satellite motion is described by canonical osculating Andoyer elements. Analytical conditions for the existence of Schwarzschild and Poincare periodic solutions are obtained and studied qualitatively and numerically.
