The high-velocity cloud at 39.4 deg galactic longitude, +4.7 deg galactic latitude reported by Shostak (1977) has been surveyed in the 21-cm hydrogen line at high sensitivity with an angular resolution of 12 arcmin and a velocity resolution of 1.8 km/s. The cloud consists of a small core with a tail elongated perpendicular to the galactic plane. Possible interpretations of the object are discussed, and it is suggested that the object may be an intergalactic gas cloud associated with the Local Group of galaxies.
