A series of three-dimensional computer simulations of disk galaxies have been run in which the self-consistent potential of the disk stars is supplemented by that arising from a small uniform Population II sphere. The models show variable spiral structure, which is more pronounced for thin disks. In addition, the thin disks form weak bars. In one case variable spiral structure is associated with this bar. The relaxed disks are cool outside resonance regions.
