Solar dynamics are dealt with in two sections. The first section discusses solar phenomena with reference to the location and duration of the phenomena, e.g., number of sunspots in the chromosphere, radio flux at 10 cm wavelengths, production of UV and X-rays, and solar eruptions such as subatomic particle streaming and type II radio bursts. The second section reviews the effect of such phenomena on the solar system in general, and on the earth in particular, e.g., the solar wind, cosmic rays, and magnetospheric disturbances.
