We study the amplitude of the weak gravitational lensing signal as a function of lens luminosity. We consider measurements around relatively isolated galaxies from the Red-sequence Cluster Survey and lenses in low-density regions from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. We find that the amplitude of the lensing signal as a function of luminosity is well described by a power law with a best-fit slope of $1.05+0.113 -0.162 . This result is inconsistent with Modified Newtonian Dynamics, which predicts a slope of ˜ 0.5.
