The linear polarization states of the sodium D-lines in the exosphere of Mercury have been determined from high-resolution spectropolarimetric images acquired with a polarization analysis package coupled to a Fabry-Perot interferometer; the results were subsequently confirmed using an equivalent polarization package with a high-resolution spectrograph.
