There is growing evidence that a significant fraction of early-type (Sa-Sab) spirals have disturbed bulges and that their diverse properties may be related to recent encounters with other galaxies. We have looked for interaction signatures in large scale neutral hydrogen distribution for 22 nearby Sa-Sab galaxies displaying a wide range of star formation rates. We find that 9 out of these 22 galaxies (41%) show HI anomalies that can be attributed to a recent interaction, with 6/11 (55%) high star forming galaxies and 3/11 (27%) low star forming galaxies making up the group. While our sample is slightly biased towards high rates of star formation, our results support claims regarding recent dynamic history of these large bulge spiral galaxies.
