The ADS was searched for information concerning the career publications and citation rates of a representative sample of professional astronomers from a number of different countries. In the late 1950s there were about 3,000 publications by the world astronomers. By 1980 the number of publications had reached 20 thousand and then started a more rapid rise, reaching 100 thousand publications by 2006. These data point out the great difficulty of keeping up with the world astronomical data. The majority of the astronomers in the study had career total publications of 500 or fewer. About ten percent of the sample had career publications between 500 and 1000 and three percent had between one thousand and one and a half thousand publications. The top three percent had average citation rate per paper of 50 or higher. The next ten percent had average citation rates between 37 and 44. The most cited article for the top three percent was 2,700 citations or greater. The next ten percent had between 1,200 and 2,700 citations.Tables and plots of these data will be shown in the poster paper.
