The gravitational containment in orbit of a magnetized diffused and ionized mass around a primary body was examined theoretically. Consideration was limited to a theory of accretion occurring after the sun has formed and matter was attracted from interstellar space. Angular momentum is assumed to be transferred from the central body to the surrounding matter, which was ionized by the transformation of kinetic to ionization energy. The product plasma entered into a quasi-circular direct orbit around the sun. The plasma then condensed, producing grains, planetesimals, and finally protoplanets. Equations were developed for a point-mass central body, which contained a dipole with a fixed magnetic moment. The diffused and ionized mass around the central body was configured as having a constant mass density and electric charge density. The results of the analysis are suggested to be useful for planetary cosmology studies.
