A complex analysis of the results of visual interpretation of space imagery and data on gravity and magnetic anomalies has been used to produce a regional geological map of the Red Sea Mountains located in the northeastern part of Africa. It is shown that data on the horizontal sections of the perturbing bodies derived from the photographic images help improve the accuracy of the interpretation of geophysical anomalies. Schematic geological maps are presented for the Red Sea Mountains along with examples of boss mapping.
